Back in May of this year I had the privilege of being the stylist for incredible vocalist Josh Groban while he was visiting Louisville to sing the national anthem for the 141st running of the Kentucky Derby. Right now the ‘Stages’ tour for his current album is in full swing, so he stopped in Louisville a few days ago for an amazing performance at The Palace Theatre. Naturally I was pretty thrilled when he let me know that he had three meet and greet passes set aside for me! Myself, my mother and my beautiful Granny (whom received the concert tickets for her 87th birthday) had one of the most memorable evenings to date. I will never forget the awe-inspiring talent, his kindness or the big smile on my grandmother’s face when she received one of Josh Groban’s big hugs. Special moments indeed, and photos that I will cherish forever.
What to wear to such an evening? A tuxedo jacket, Valentino pumps and something shiny. Upgrade that basic blazer! Tuxedo jackets are one of the most versatile and overlooked items in a woman’s wardrobe. Pair them with anything from a pencil skirt to your favorite pair of distressed jeans to look instantly chic! I roll the cuffs of the sleeves to keep it casual.
